Forsyth holds second dispensary meeting

FORSYTH -- Forsyth residents filled the public library Thursday evening to discuss a potential dispensary opening in the village. The village board's special meeting began with a developer's presentation on behalf of the interested company, Illinois Health and Wellness LLC. The location of the dispensary within Forsyth has not yet been confirmed. The company has also approached the village of Mount Zion. Forsyth lot to see two new businesses

FORSYTH -- The former Hometown Buffet in Forsyth will soon be home to two new prominent national businesses. Starbucks and Five Below have both announced they will soon open locations on the property. Hometown Buffet closed the Forsyth restaurant in February 2016 due to financial performance issues. The parent company closed all Hometown Buffet locations and other subsidiaries during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly all of their former restaurants have been sold in auctions. FORSYTH -- Forsyth residents will have an opportunity to voice their opinions about the possibility of a cannabis dispensary opening within the community. The first meeting occurred Thursday evening with a second meeting on the subject to take place on July 11.
