Southwest Airlines to cut 15% of corporate workforce

DALLAS (UPI) -- Southwest Airlines plans to slash 15% of its corporate workforce -- the first mass layoffs in the company's decades-long history -- as the airline looks to cut costs. Southwest Airlines gives furlough warning to almost 7,000 workers

DALLAS (UPI) -- Hindered by depressed demand for air travel, Southwest Airlines on Thursday gave furlough warnings to nearly 7,000 employees after a deal to cut wages by 10% next year stalled. The warning went out to 6,800 pilots, flight attendants, and other employees and union members. Two-alarm fire prompts temporary evacuation at Lambert Airport

ST. LOUIS (UPI) -- Firefighters in St. Louis extinguished a fire at Lambert International Airport that prompted evacuations Sunday morning.
