NOKOMIS -- After a hiatus of several years, the Nokomis Historical Society is once again starting up. According to former president JoAnn Keele, the Society was started in 1992 by herself and Ken Wiseman with the intent to collect and preserve Nokomis' history. NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis Chamber of Commerce met Thursday, November 9 at noon for its final meeting of the 2023 calendar year at Demi's Diner. President Dr. Scott Doerr presented an update on the upcoming Snowkomis celebration on December 8-9. Citizens expressed concern about ‘no parking’ ordinance in Nokomis council meeting

NOKOMIS (Heartland Newsfeed) -- Many residents were in attendance during the City Council proceedings on Monday night, Feb. 24 to discuss a 'no parking' ordinance on Pine Street that was passed at the previous meeting.
