NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis City Council will soon need to decide on the future of a major water project. The project was a matter of discussion during the August 14 regular meeting of the council. Terra Mills, who spoke on behalf of her father Brett Mills, is having difficulty understanding what is being required by the city regarding several of Mills' properties. NOKOMIS -- Two trees that have recently been cut down in Johnson Park in downtown Nokomis is being considered for replacement. NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis City Council met in a special session on Thursday, Jan. 27 with the intent of hiring a new police chief. All commissioners were present with the exception of Michael Glenn.
