MATTOON/CHARLESTON -- The cities of Charleston and Mattoon simultaneously held city council meetings last Tuesday. In Mattoon, the City Council unanimously approved a lease agreement with G&H Services for the construction of a boat dock at Lake Mattoon’s marina. CHARLESTON -- Eastern Illinois University is suspending all competition for the men's swimming team in the interim while an investigation is underway on hazing allegations. EIU Athletics is investigating "credible" hazing reports presented to head coach Johnathan Jordan.
