COMMENTARY: Trump impeachment set to be another waste of taxpayer dollars

I will be the first to admit that I'm no fan of President Donald J. Trump. I was so disgusted with the duopoly's candidate-throat-shoving via the GOP's Trump and the Democrats' Hillary Clinton. I voted for Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson without hesitation because I'm beyond disgusted with both major parties. The current attempts in the House to impeach Trump with a full vote expected before the end of the 2019 session can be somewhat equated to the 1998 impeachment of […]

Healthcare takes center stage during second round of Democratic debates

DETROIT (UPI) -- Healthcare dominated the conversation during the first night of the second round of 2020 Democratic presidential debates. The field of 10 candidates was split on the idea of implementing a strategy such as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' Medicare for All plan that would enroll every American in a government-run national health insurance system funded by taxpayers and other options that would allow Americans to retain their private insurance plans. Former Maryland Rep. John Delaney opened the debate […]

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- Hope Hicks, the interim White House communications director, is now the permanent director, a White House spokesperson confirmed Tuesday. Hicks, 28, was among the first of President Donald Trump's staffers in his presidential campaign, and became interim communications director in August. She replaced Anthony Scaramucci, who was removed from the position in July; Scaramucci replaced Mike Dubke, who resigned in May. The Trump administration has thus had three communications directors in eight months. Prior to Trump's presidency, Hicks was employed by New York public relations firm Hiltzik […]

Libertarian Party denounces the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program

WASHINGTON (Libertarian Party) -- The Trump administration has announced that it will end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program commonly known as DACA. Libertarian Party national chairman Nicholas Sarwark says, “This is a heartless move by the Trump Administration. The recipients of DACA did nothing wrong. In […]
