Tarr murder trial moving forward

HILLSBORO -- After over two years of ongoing pretrial hearings and standstills, the murder trial of Robert Tarr from a 2021 murder in Farmersville is making some progress. Court filings in Montgomery County Circuit Court last week revealed subpoenas being filed for delivery to key witnesses in the murder trial of Tarr, 50, of Collinsville. Tarr made pre-trial appearance Friday

HILLSBORO -- A man facing murder and attempted murder charges made an appearance Friday in Montgomery County court. Robert J. Tarr of Collinsville appeared in court Friday before Circuit Judge Christopher Matoush. Discovery continues to be sought, while both the prosecution and defense are anticipating an agreement. Two arrested in Nokomis drug bust

NOKOMIS -- A Nokomis woman and a Hillsboro man are in jail following a drug bust at a local business. Following an investigation stemming from an investigation, Nokomis Police served a search warrant on Wednesday, June 28. The warrant was serviced at Front Street Pub, 124 W. Front St. During the search, at least 100 grams of methamphetamine were found on the premises. Barbara Krager, 55, of Nokomis, was arrested on location.
