Ex-MLB pitcher, longtime Giants executive Dick Tidrow dies at 74

SAN FRANCISCO (UPI) -- Dick Tidrow, a former MLB pitcher who later became a longtime member of the San Francisco Giants' front office, has died. He was 74. NEW YORK (UPI) -- The New York Mets signed three veteran players, including former Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Melky Cabrera, to minor league contracts. White Sox play-by-play broadcaster Ed Farmer has passed away

Ed Farmer, the radio voice for the Chicago White Sox, has died. He was 70 years old. Farmer had been in poor health. He actually missed the end of the 2019 season due to medical problems. The Chicago native was the fifth-round pick of the Cleveland Indians in the 1967 MLB Draft and made his debut with them in 1971. White Sox, Robert agree to six-year, $50 million deal

CHICAGO (UPI) -- The Chicago White Sox and prized outfield prospect Luis Robert agreed on a six-year, $50 million contract, the team announced Thursday. The $50 million sets a new record for a player with no major league service time.
