Illinois 103 closed for work in Schuyler County

RUSHVILLE — Illinois Route 103 between U.S. 24 and U.S. 67 in Schuyler County closed beginning Monday as crews remove and resurface more than seven miles of the road.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of August, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. 

The $12 million project will include stabilizing road slopes east of Sand Ridge Road and replacing guardrails.

Only local traffic only be permitted during the work. However, Illinois 103 and Sugar Grove Road will remain open for northbound and southbound traffic. Drivers will be directed to detours using U.S. Highways 24 and 67.

Delays and changing traffic conditions are likely throughout the area, so craft your travel plans carefully.
