Masters golf tournament to take place without fans in November

AUGUSTA, Ga. (UPI) -- Augusta National Golf Club announced Wednesday that this year's Masters Tournament will be held without spectators or guests because of the coronavirus pandemic. Augusta National and Masters chairman Fred Ridley issued a statement on the decision, saying the risks of having fans in attendance "are simply too significant to overcome." DETROIT (UPI) -- Harris English withdrew from this week's Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit after he became the fifth player on the PGA Tour to test positive for the coronavirus. HOUSTON (UPI) -- Former professional golfer Doug Sanders -- who compiled 20 PGA Tour victories over 16 years -- has died at the age of 86.
