Hoskins emerges victorious in crowded GOP race for Missouri Secretary of State

(MissouriNet) -- Sen. Denny Hoskins (R-Warrensburg) has won the GOP primary for Secretary of State. He beat a crowded field of seven other Republican candidates to emerge victorious. Hoskins told MissouriNet that he could not have done this without his supporters. “It’s very humbling driving across the state and meeting new people that said they’ve been going door-to-door for me or they’re working the polls for me, or they walked in and prayed for me or seeing 4×8 signs go […]

Missouri voters reject ballot measure to help childcare providers

(MissouriNet) -- Missouri has a critical shortage of affordable childcare providers and an attempt to help them to keep their doors open has failed. Missouri voters soundly rejected a ballot measure Tuesday that would have allowed the state legislature to pass a property tax exemption for childcare providers. Once the votes were tallied, about 55% of voters opposed the plan, while 45% supported it. The proposal covered licensed and unlicensed providers who are registered with the state, including in-home childcare. […]

Gas prices dropping in Missouri

Prices still relatively high

New dialing system coming to 573 area code in Missouri

(Missourinet) -- Beginning in 2024, all local calls within Missouri’s 573 area code will have to be placed using the full 10 digits of your phone number. A new overlay 235 area code is being created because there weren’t that many available phone numbers left, according to Scott Rupp with the Missouri Public Service Commission. “This has happened in multiple different parts of the state,” said Rupp. “It’s constantly happened around the country. So many digits, you can only change […]

Adam Schwadron (R-St. Charles) sponsored the piece included in a public safety package. “A lot of people, it’s not just items that they may need, but they’re items that they desperately need, such as medication that are being stolen, that are being delivered," Schwadron said. "And this just helps protect people and their property.” A ceremonial […]

Can Drinkwitz lead Mizzou to a winning record?

Mizzou won four of its last six regular season games in 2022 and was the only team to play CFP National Champion Georgia in a one-score game in the regular season (L, 26-22). Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz has led Mizzou to a bowl in each of his first three seasons, only the second coach in school history to do so along with the late Warren Powers (1978-84). However, the Tigers have never finished with an above .500 record under Drinkwitz […]
