SIU looks to raise $75 million to help students find success

The Southern Illinois University (SIU) Foundation is almost halfway to collecting its fundraising goal of $ 75 million to help provide scholarships and other benefits to its Carbondale students, SIU announced recently. A former Hillsboro native, Dr. Nancy J. Cox, was honored this spring as the first recipient of the Richard M. Caprioli Research Award. Dr. Cox currently serves as the director of the Vanderbilt Genetics Institute in Nashville, TN.
