Originally opened as the Nokomis Community Closet in 1998 by founder Ann Best, the Nokomis Ministerial Alliance joined with the Nokomis Community Closet and is today known as Nokomis Christian Missions. HARVEL -- Illinois Farm Bureau hosted a Nutrient Stewardship Field Day on Thursday, March 27, at Don Murphy’s farm in Harvel. The morning began at the farm, with donuts and coffee provided by the Farm Bureau. FARMERSVILLE -- The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced the replacement of the bridge decks on the overpasses at Virden Avenue and North 33rd Avenue over Interstate 55 in Montgomery County. Closure of the bridges will be necessary while the improvements are being made. Work begins today, Tuesday, April 1.
