NOKOMIS — A representative from Lincoln Land Community College will be in Nokomis next week to answer questions for prospective students and parents of prospective students.
A news release from Nokomis Public Library this week notes that the representative will be present on Monday afternoon, December 9 at the library.
LLCC representative Tisha Miller, enrollment coordinator, will be available to answer questions from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“The new year will be here soon, and for many, this means starting something new,” said Lisa Casterline, Nokomis Public Library director. “This might include beginning or continuing your college education to starting the steps toward a different career.”
Registration for the 2025 spring session is currently underway, with 16-week courses starting on January 13 and eight-week courses starting on January 13 and March 17.
New students will be able to view classes and apply online or in person through the main campus in Springfield or any of their satellite campuses, including Taylorville and Litchfield.
Miller is the enrollment coordinator for the LLCC campuses in Litchfield and Taylorville.
“With enrollment and scholarship timeframes now open, we thought it would benefit the community to have someone from LLCC be accessible in person to answer questions related to LLCC,” Casterline said. “Tisha was onboard to make that happen for us.”
Miller noted that the public is welcome to attend upcoming FAFSA completion sessions. The Taylorville campus will hold sessions on December 11 and February 12, and the Litchfield campus will hold theirs on January 22. All three events will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Registration is encouraged for the FAFSA completion nights, and prospective students can do so by visiting www.llcc.edu/taylorville or www.llcc.edu/litchfield.
In addition to enrollment and FAFSA questions, Miller will also be available to answer questions about scholarships, provide information and guidance on majors, career training, transfer credits, online learning, high school programs, and adult education and literacy.
