CHAMPAIGN — On behalf of Flyover Film Studios, the Champaign County Film Office, a part of Experience Champaign-Urbana, is thrilled to showcase locally-made films for audiences to enjoy this Halloween season.
“The film scene in the Champaign-Urbana area has long been active, and continues to grow,” explains Mark Brown, Director of Event Services & Film. “The immense talent in our region has led to increased production, economic development, and job creation. By supporting these efforts in the community, we can create an environment where this art form can thrive.”

REVEALER: Tensions rise when a stripper and religious protester are trapped together in a peep show booth and must come together to survive the apocalypse in 1980s Chicago. Made in downtown Champaign in August 2020 by Director Luke Boyce.

BLACK MOLD: When Brooke encounters a stranger in an abandoned building, her traumatic memories surface, and she must either find closure or let fear consume her. Made entirely in Champaign County in spring 2022, directed by John Pata.

BROOKLYN ‘45: Five military veterans, best friends since childhood, gather to support their troubled host, and the metaphoric ghosts of their past become all-too-literal. Produced by Champaign filmmakers and set designed by Champaign art department in the winter of 2021.

Curse of the Sin Eater: A poor construction worker makes a deal with a dying business mogul to inherit billions only to discover that he has also been cursed by the man’s terrifying sins. Shot in the summer of 2022 by many local Champaign crew and includes on-screen appearances by Dustin Hoke and Hoke Construction.

SLICE: When a pizza delivery driver is murdered on the job, the city searches for someone to blame: Ghosts? Drug dealers? A disgraced werewolf? Made summer of 2016 by many Champaign locals.

FINAL SUMMER: In the aftermath of a tragedy at a summer camp, a group of camp counselors find themselves fighting for their lives against a masked killer. Local slasher favorite made by Champaign Director John Isberg.

Flyover Film Studios aims to revolutionize Central Illinois’s filmmaking, workforce, and entertainment industry. The company has 20,000 usable sq. ft. of production offices and 100,000 usable sq. ft. of support spaces. Established in 2015, the Champaign County Film Office assists film productions in location scouting, permitting, and additional needs to ensure successful filming that benefits the greater Champaign-Urbana area. The Film Office maintains a locations database and connects residents, businesses, and service providers interested in being involved with the film industry with productions occurring in the area.
