Joan Moore, 85, Shelbyville

SHELBYVILLE, Ill. — Joan Marie Moore, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully and into Jesus’ arms on, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Shelbyville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Shelby Christian Church, 200 N Hickory, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. If desired, memorials may be made to the family.

Joan “GG” Marie (Anderson) Moore was born on November 16, 1938, in Chicago, the daughter of Kidder and Nellie (Occleshaw) Anderson. She married the late Tom Moore in 2003 and returned to Shelbyville after his passing in 2012.

If you were lucky enough to cross paths with our GG, you know her faith never wavered as she found her strength in Our Lord. She loved making your day brighter by sharing a joke or two, and in her later years, GG found a love for bowling and was in various leagues. She was a member of the Shelby Christian Church.

GG will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her including her children Karen Wright, Richard Nichols, and Pamela (Johnny) Fairbanks, grandchildren Tiffany (Brock) Hancock, Heather Ingram, Christopher (Jessica) Shinneman, Joseph Shinneman, John Fairbanks, Jr, and Amanda Fairbanks-Hasten, her pride and joy “The Great-Grands” Brody and Tailyn Hancock, Meadow, and Briar Shinneman, Dawson, Kaydon, Jullion & Jameson Jenkins, and Cameron Fairbanks, her marble cheating partner and sister, Betty Ramirez, and family.

She was formerly married to Robert Zoltowski and Merle Nichols, previously residing in Chicago, Clinton, Windsor, and Salem, all in Illinois. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Anderson.
