NOKOMIS — The Nokomis Woman’s Club will host a Nokomis community Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at Fred B. Johnson City Park.

Children from toddlers through fourth grade are invited to bring their Easter baskets and line up in the designated areas before the starting time.

The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos and to pass out Dairy Queen tokens after the hunt. Tom and Joy Spainhour, owners of the Nokomis and Pana Dairy Queens, graciously donate them each year. The bunny will also have extra eggs for toddlers who are too shy to participate in the big hunt.

There will be a box in the gazebo for anyone who wishes to recycle their plastic eggs from the hunt. Winners from the coloring contest will be able to pick up their prizes and have a photo taken for the newspaper after the egg hunt.

Look for the signs for where the picture will be taken. The winners will be notified before the hunt. The egg hunt will take place regardless of weather, so children are asked to come prepared to hunt in the conditions for the day.

The event was postponed from last weekend due to potential inclement weather.
