PANA — The Pana Elks Lodge #1261 will be the sponsor of the annual community Easter egg hunt.

The annual event will be on Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m. inside Kitchell Park and will involve an enormous amount of candy.

Eggs will be distributed in three age-specific areas within the park. The event is open to children up to the age of ten.

This year the age 0-3 hunt is sponsored by Peoples Bank and Trust, the age 4-6 hunt is sponsored by the First National Bank of Pana, and the age 7-10 hunt is sponsored by the Pana Branch of Land of Lincoln Credit Union.

Participants are reminded to open all of their eggs, which will contain a lot of candy, surprises, and big item giveaways, including bicycles and gift certificates.

“It takes a lot of help, other than just the Elks to make the Easter egg hunt a success,” said event chair Deanne Niehart. “We count on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and other civic organizations to help us in our effort.”

Donations, both monetary and prizes, can be dropped off at the Elks Lodge, 107 W. Second St., after 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Checks can be made payable to Pana Elks Lodge with the memo “Easter Egg Hunt”.

A makeup rain date is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 should there be inclement weather impacting the event.
