Nokomis library to celebrate Dr. Seuss

NOKOMIS — Throughout March, Nokomis Public Library will be celebrating the literary mind of Dr. Seuss.

There will be themed days each Monday and Wednesday of the month, known as Monday Madness and Wacky Wednesday.

The Monday Madness events are as follows:

  • March 3 – Fox and Socks Day: Wear crazy socks or wear your socks crazy!
  • March 10 – The Sleep Book: Wear your pajamas to the library!
  • March 17 – Oh, The Places You’ll Go!: Pick up your FREE admission to The Magic House.
  • March 24 – Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can you?: Stop in and pick up a FREE Yoohoo!
  • March 31 – Put Me in a Zoo Day: Bring your favorite stuffy with you!

The Wacky Wednesday events are as follows:

  • March 5 – Fish Out of Water: Make a fish craft with us.
  • March 12 – Chasing Rainbows!: Let’s make our own rainbow craft!
  • March 19 – Fishing for Fun!: Stop by and “fish” with us!
  • March 26 – Finale: Wear your clothes backward, inside out, and mismatched when you visit.

The celebration for all nine sessions will occur during regular operating hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will also be a Dr. Seuss Story Time event on Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. with story time, crafts, and snacks.

Interested parents wishing to enroll their child(ren) can call Nokomis Public Library at (217) 563-2734 to reserve a spot. They can also drop by the library, located at 100 N. Spruce St.
