TAYLORVILLE — The following has been reported by the Taylorville Police Department and the Christian County Sheriff’s Department for the period of November 15-20, 2023 and are as follows:
Taylorville Police: Arrests
Nov. 19:
- Shane D. Farris, 38, Taylorville, was arrested for domestic battery and criminal damage to property.
- Erick W. Gudgel, 39, Taylorville, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.
- Brandon J. Emery, 33, Taylorville was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Nov. 20:
- Aaron J. Buckler, 38, Taylorville, was arrested for driving while license revoked.
Christian County: Arrests
Nov. 18:
- Dayton Durbin, 25, Jacksonville, was arrested by deputies on an active warrant for aggravated battery.
- Cole Montgomery, 24, Mt. Auburn, was arrested by deputies for criminal trespass to a residence and resisting a peace officer.
Nov. 20:
- Thomas Sipes, 52, Springfield, was arrested by Springfield police on an active Christian County failure to appear in court warrant for burglary.
- Clay Pressley, 20, Mt. Zion, was arrested by Stonington police for speeding, fleeing police, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Christian County: Accidents
Nov. 8:
- A vehicle driven by Adrian Tollett, no age or address reported, was southbound on County 5 in Bear Creek Township when a deer ran into the roadway hitting the driver’s side of the vehicle. There were no injuries and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
Nov. 10:
- Vehicles driven by Mary Vandenbergh and Ruando De La Rey, no ages or addresses reported, were involved in an accident in Johnson Township. According to the report, the Vandenbergh vehicle was southbound behind the De La Rey vehicle on 1250E Road at approximately 900N. De La Rey began to slow to attempt a right-hand turn, entering the northbound lane for clearance to make the turn. The Vandenbergh vehicle attempted to pass on the right and struck the turning vehicle. The Vandenbergh vehicle then began to skid and struck a stop sign located on the southwest corner of the 900 N – 1250 E intersection. It then went into a ditch on the West side of 1250. Vandenbergh was taken to the hospital by ambulance and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Nov. 15:
- A vehicle driven by Jenny Wolfe, no age or address reported, was northbound on 980E at approximately 1490N. 1500N Road was blocked and inaccessible. Wolfe began to back up to turn around and struck a parked car. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
Nov. 16:
- A vehicle driven by Shanna Ruyle, no age or address reported, was northbound on Illinois Route 104 in South Fork Township when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported but the vehicle was towed from the scene.
- A vehicle driven by Kira Samson, no age or address reported, was westbound on Lincoln Trail when a deer ran into the roadway and the driver was unable to avoid striking the deer. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
Nov. 18:
- A vehicle driven by Donald Stiner, no age or address reported, was eastbound on County Highway 8 at approximately 1575E when it struck a deer that crossed the roadway. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
Nov. 19:
- A vehicle driven by Kenneth Tapscott, no age or address reported, was northbound on Illinois Route 29 at approximately 1850N when it struck a deer. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was towed from the scene.
- A vehicle driven by Candice Chapman, no age or address reported, was northbound on 760N at 1250E Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was towed from the scene.
