Linda L. Evans, 78, of Pana passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 in her home.

She was born March 11, 1943 in Taylorville to the late Clyde Wagner, Sr. and Margaret (Rice) Wagner.

Linda married Noel Evans, Jr. on August 20, 1960, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1998.

Linda was a graduate of Pana High School. She had worked at Mallory’s, Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company, Horace Mann, was an owner-operator of Evans Concessions and Evans Café, Pana Country Club, Phil Dressen Realty where she got her license, Joe’s Homes, and most recently, she worked in in-home health care.

Linda was a member of Christ Tabernacle, Herrick.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, golfing, fishing, and singing southern gospel music. She loved visiting Branson, Amish country, and the beach. She enjoyed traveling with her best friend Sue Taylor and her sister.  She enjoyed visiting her brother and all of her grandchildren.

Linda also supported the Community Mission Center in Pana, the 700 Club, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and World Vision.

Linda is survived by her children Jeff Evans of Pana, Tina (Steve) Neuman of Pleasant Plains, Lindsey (Dan) Forth of Collinsville, grandchildren Sara (Eric) Smith, Kris (Stephanie) Neuman, Austin (Ashley) Neuman, Mitch Neuman, Taylor Forth, and Jackson Forth, great-grandchildren Charlie Neuman, Elli Neuman, Everly Neuman, Hayvn Evans, Kohen Smith and Briar Smith, and sister Dottie Wagner of Effingham.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Clyde Wagner Jr.

Funeral services for Linda will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 in Christ Tabernacle, Herrick at 11 a.m. with Bishop Thomas Suey officiating.

A private family committal service will be held in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond. Visitation will be held Friday from 9 a.m. until service time in the church.

Memorials in Linda’s honor may be made to Christ Tabernacle or Community Mission Center and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
