JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — All Elite Wrestling (AEW) recently made an announcement that there will be 14 matches on the card for Tuesday’s AEW Dark, which premieres at 7 p.m. Eastern. The show airs weekly on the promotion’s YouTube channel.
Dark Order’s Evil Uno will be in a Fatal 4-Way match against Frankie Kazarian, The Blade (aka Braxton Sutter), and Jungle Boy. With Uno yet to fight in AEW non-tag team action, will he score his first singles victory in 2020. That may be difficult to tell, as Kaz is 3-3 and the Boy Wonder 1-3 for the year in singles competition. Like Uno, Blade has yet to participate in singles action.
Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds, John Silver, and Preston Vance are in trios action against developmental wrestlers Aaron Solow, Angel Fashion, and M’Badu. As the three members have varying trios records, could the Dark Order add another match to the win column in AEW?
Evil Uno returns to ringside when Colt Cabana takes on Griff Garrison in singles action. Cabana is 6-5 so far in 2020 as Garrison is slowly trying to make a name for himself. Will “Boom Boom” get the win or could Garrison pull some sort of an upset?
The tag team of Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss are taking turns in singles action with their partner at ringside. Janela takes on indie wrestler D3, while Kiss takes on Matt Sydal.
Former tag team partners Brandon Cutler and Peter Avalon face off against each other. Cutler is 0-20-1 in 2020, while Avalon has an equally pathetic record of 0-20-1. Will either come up with a win to break their losing streak? Or could we potentially end up with another draw?
Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. from Lucha Brothers take on Lee Johnson and Cezar Bononi in tag action. The team is 4-4 for the year in tag team competition.
Gunn Club (Austin and Billy Gunn) are also in tag action taking on Ryzin and Maxx Stardom. The team is 8-0 in 2020, so could we see this momentum continue to climb and put Gunn Club in the tag team championship bubble?
Darby Allin may still be wanting to get his hands on Ricky Starks and deliver a beatdown, but he has Nick Comoroto to deal with. Comoroto was on WWE’s NXT brand until COVID-19 struck and he was among many members of the talent pool given their pink slips. Allin is currently 10-5 for the year in singles competition.
Speaking of rival Starks, he is in competition against Fuego del Sol. del Sol is a former champion under two indie promotions: Imperial Wrestling Revolution and Sabotage Wrestling. It could be presumed that Starks, 8-2 in singles action, would win this match, but crazier things have taken place in the squared circle.
Also in singles action are Wardlow and Eddie Kingston. Wardlow, who is 6-1 in singles, faces off against a wrestler who needs some work in the ring, Elijah Dean. Meanwhile, Kingston takes on Baron Black. Black actively wrestles in the indies, particularly with New South Pro Wrestling. Black made his TV debut on Dynamite on April 29, losing to Shawn Spears. His previous matches were during the Dark tapings on August 12 and 13.
Red Velvet takes on Elayna Black and Nyla Rose is back in action, taking on KiLynn King.
Red Velvet has yet to win a match in AEW, but could that change as she takes on Black, the freelancer from Chicago?
Expect the other to be an uneventful squash match. King also has yet to win a match in the promotion and already has an 0-2 record against Rose, losing a 2-on-1 handicap match alongside Kenzie Paige in July. She would also lose against Rose in August during a singles match on Dark. Rose’s manager Vickie Guerrero will be ringside.
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite broadcast marks the first anniversary of the promotion is already has a huge lineup.
At least for now, this is what we know:
Miro and Kip Sabian will be in action, presumably tag team action.
The AEW World Women’s Championship is on the line as Big Swole challenges champion Hikaru Shida.
The TNT Championship is on the line as champion Cody Rhodes defends it against Orange Cassidy. Rhodes won the title back last week in a dog collar match on Dynamite.
The World Tag Team Championships are also on the line. Chuck Taylor and Trent from Best Friends call their shot on the titles. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) are the current champions.
Jon Moxley seeks to retain the AEW World Championship as he faces off against Lance Archer. Archer’s first quest for gold in AEW would prove unfruitful, losing in May to Rhodes for the TNT Championship. Now he seeks to take the primary title from Moxley.
Surprisingly not on the line for the show on Wednesday night is the unsanctioned FTW Championship, currently held by Brian Cage.
Dynamite airs live on TNT Wednesday nights at 8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific. Check your local TV provider for channel listings.
