Is cable television plummeting down a technological pitfall to death?

Cable has been one of the most popular things you can get for your house or business. Having the ability to select any channel you want, and you don’t have to worry about a storm knocking out the signal. Sure, some places will charge a lot more money for cable than you would have to pay for a satellite, but nothing is going to come through and wipe away all of your signal in a time of distress.

Cable has had lots of uphill battles and downfalls through the years, but everyone goes back to it at the end of the day. Or at least they did before the best IPTV services came into play.

When did cable TV become available?

Something you might not know about cable; it’s been around since the 1960s. That’s not a very long time for something so extraordinary. We’ve had cable for less than 100 years and we’re already questioning if the time for it has passed.

Sure, we all enjoy watching whatever channel we please at whatever hour of the night. We love having the option to record shows that we are going to miss due to work or social events, and we love being able to go on-demand and pick out movies that aren’t available to be streamed on any other service. But now that the best IPTV services are offering similar perks and benefits, has cable finally run out of time? Is the cable industry dying and is it the fault of streaming services?

It might be true. The cable industry has had some rough years. They’ve been through a lot and they’ve had trouble keeping clients. These clients would usually go back to having cable instead of satellite because they didn’t have any other options.

But now that you have the option to choose one of the many live tv streaming services, they have other places to go and they no longer have to deal with the complications of having cable in their homes.

What Are The Best Alternatives Today?

Places like Hulu, YouTube, and even Netflix, offer the same shows and some of the same benefits as cable networks. So, why would you choose cable over these streaming services?

The streaming services offer you more to watch due to their large selection of on-demand shows and movies. They even have their own original programming that you can’t get with cable tv. There are benefits from cable that you can’t get with other streaming services, but that doesn’t mean that cable is winning the fight against digital streaming.

Cable lets you record, rewind, fast forward, and even pick from on-demand options the day after a show or movie airs so that you never miss what you want to watch. It gives you alerts when there is severe weather in your area, and you always have a reliable source of the weather when you aren’t sure what is happening in the sky. It’s a local service so you know you can always count on it for emergencies.

But streaming services offer those same benefits. When you choose YouTube or Hulu Live, they will offer you weather updates. They let you set up recordings, watch on-demand, and rewind when you miss an important moment. The only downfalls to these services are the channel selection is a lot smaller, and if your internet goes out, you no longer have a tv to keep up with what’s going on in the world.

There are pros and cons to both cable and streaming services. However, it seems the cable industry is on its last leg and you might want to switch over to digital.
