Olde Tyme Tractor Show kicks off in Hillsboro this weekend

HILLSBORO (Heartland Newsfeed) — The Olde Tyme Tractor Show will be held this weekend, July 15 and 16 at Lake Glenn Shoals Park.  The show, celebrating 22 years in operation, is sponsored by the Montgomery County Farm Bureau.

Registration will begins each day at 9 AM, with no entry fee and exhibitors will receive a show button.

hillsoldetymeAntique tractors and equipment manufactured in prior to and including 1982, restored or unrestored are welcome. Any farm-related items such as stationary engines, lawn tractors, tools, cars, trucks or small collectibles are invited to exhibit. Demonstrations of equipment are encouraged to show attendees how farm items from the past were used on the farms.

The Hillsboro FFA will be sponsoring kiddie pedal pulls, which will kickoff at 10 AM on Saturday. The following age groups are allowed to sign up for competition: 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10. Modified pedal pulls for those under age 16, as well as those over age 16 will follow afterwards. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

A tractor parade to downtown Hillsboro is scheduled to leave the park at 11:30 AM, with a garden tractor parade to be held later at the park at 1 PM. Tractor and lawn tractor games will take place following the parades. The games will be held all weekend, with cash prizes for those finishing first, second and third.

Games will be stopped around 2 PM to allow children to race their pedal tractors. Trophies for first and second places will be awarded and all participants will receive a door prize for participating, with age groups for ages 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. Participants can bring their own pedal tractors, but other tractors will be available.

Luck and Buck Saddle Club are once again serving breakfast and lunch, but there will also be other food vendors. Craft and flea market vendors are welcome to set up.

The Mid State Collectors Club is selling raffle tickets for a pink International and a 4020 John Deere pedal tractor. 100% of ticket proceeds will go to the Montgomery County Cancer Association. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will be on Sunday after the Best of Class trophies are awarded, where you do not need to be present to win.
